Educator

Adjunct at YSU

I spent about 3 years teaching, both on and off campus as an adjunct instructor at Youngstown State University. The classes I taught were Machine Design 1 and 2 as well as 3D Design. From beam deflection, to spring design, gears splines and bearings, parametric modeling, and the basics of 2D construction drawings (of which I predict a serious lack of talent in upcoming generations). As an instructor I tried to be affable, approachable, and well prepared. And when I wasn't well prepared (it happens), I was honest about that too. I think it's important to build trust with your students.Â
